CV girls soccer take down Warwick 2-0 in the final to claim league gold.
The Conestoga Valley girls soccer team is the new queens of the league. The Buckskins blanked Warwick 2-0 at Manheim, to take the L-L league title.
CV broke the deadlock 6 minutes from time in the first half, with a Morgan Higgins cross that the Warriors couldn't clear. The ball eventually lands in front of CV's Michaela Horst, who taps it in to give CV the one goal lead.
In the second half, freshman Samara Yurchak gets fouled inside the area and is sent to the spot. Then Yurchak with a clinical penalty kick sends the Buckskins to a 2 goal advantage; and sends the team back to Witmer with league gold.
The match on Saturday was the ladies 19th win, which makes this team the winningest team in school history (the previous mark was 17, set two years ago).
The girls will begin District play on Wednesday.
