Blazer senior takes down Central on injured ankle.
Matt Lauver has led his Lancaster Mennonite team all season more. Never more so than in crunch time in the District semifinals.
After the Blazers pushed Manheim Central to a fifth and final game last Friday, Lauver twisted his ankle with the Barons on top late. But the senior came back to put away three unanswered points as LMH defeated Central to qualify for the class AA District 3 Championship.
Lauver finished with a match high 22 kills.
His injury kept him out of the final, where Mennonite was swept by defending district and state champion Northeastern.
The senior led his team in kills in every District game except the final, totaling 69 kills through the tournament.
LMH won its PIAA opener tonight to qualify for quarterfinal pool play on Friday.
